Data Governance and Quality Lead

We seek a highly skilled Data Governance and Quality Lead to spearhead our data governance initiatives and enhance our data quality frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance principles, experience with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), and a proven track record in managing data quality programs. You will lead a team focused on developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure that our data assets are reliable and compliant with business standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and business objectives.
  2. Develop, document, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the organisation.
  3. Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and business units to ensure adherence to governance policies and facilitate a culture of data stewardship.
  4. Establish and oversee data quality frameworks that include data lineage, profiling, cleansing, and enrichment processes.
  5. Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for data quality, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness. Regularly report on data quality status to stakeholders.
  6. Conduct thorough investigations of data quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to mitigate future occurrences.
  7. Leverage Informatica IDMC capabilities for data quality management, including data profiling, monitoring, and workflow automation.
  8. Oversee the implementation and configuration of IDMC solutions to optimise data quality processes and ensure scalability.
  9. Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate IDMC with existing data systems and pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and quality control.
  10. Work closely with data analytics, data science, and IT teams to align data governance and quality initiatives with overall business strategy.
  11. Develop and conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on data governance principles, data quality standards, and best practice
  12. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data governance processes, data quality standards, and compliance frameworks.
  13. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and evidence of compliance with data governance policies.
  14. Identify process improvements and innovation opportunities within the data governance and quality landscape. Recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance data management practices.
  15. Establish feedback loops with stakeholders to continuously refine data governance and quality processes based on user experience and data utilisation.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, etc.)
  2. Proven 8+ years of experience in Data Governance & Quality Roles.
  3. Proven experience with Informatica IDMC, including implementing and managing data quality processes.
  4. Should understand data colouring, metadata management, data quality, lineage, sharing, monetization etc.
  5. Strong understanding of data warehouse and data governance concepts and best practices.


Preferred Skills:

  1. Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  2. Ability to influence and drive change across the Data and Analytics CEO.
  3. Knowledge in Big Data, Data Lake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Snowflake, Data Bricks, Informatica, Collibra, and DevOps tools like DBT.
  4. Knowledge of ERP systems and understanding of trading, logistics, supply chain, finance, and risk management would be an added advantage.
  5. Strategic mindset and the ability to identify opportunities to use data to drive business growth. You should be able to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to complex problems.
