About Function:

The Credit Risk, Collections & Accounts Receivable Head will lead and manage the credit risk, collections, and accounts receivable departments, overseeing a team of 10-15 professionals. This role is responsible for owning and optimizing all related processes end-to-end, ensuring effective risk management, efficient collection, and timely accounts receivable operations. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to minimize risk, improve cash flow, and enhance the overall financial health of the organization.

What you’ll be doing:

Credit Risk Management

  • Developing, validating & implementing credit risk framework, policy & models for collateral risk, concentration risk, counterparty risk, issuer risk, customer risk, supplier risk & settlement risk in the domain of supply chain financing related products & solutions.
  • Enhancing & continuously fine tuning the credit risk model based on the performance monitoring & back testing.
  • Developing & managing internal ratings to customers, suppliers & counterparties. Managing end to end loss provisioning process & designing & executing stress test.
  • Monitoring credit limits & implementing credit controls. Managing exposure & concentration risk across counterparty, industry, sector & country.
  • Leading data quality, data governance, variable selection, credit risk model specification, validation, development & operationalization of early warning system, development of credit risk models, risk based pricing and live dasboards for an end-to-end credit risk management process.
  • Assessing & conducting credit risk assessment based on credit models related to probability of default, loss given default & exposure at default including receiving, gathering & reviewing customer information.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Ensuring that the risk is kept within the set appetite as per business strategy & building, developing and leading a center of excellence for credit risk management within Smartpaddle Technology Private Limited.
  • Ensuring that there are sufficient internal & external resources in place, with necessary skills, knowledge and expertise to implement & monitor credit risk management framework.
  • Managing senior internal & external stakeholders & driving consensus driven alignment
  • Assisting the finance controller in preparing and presenting credit risk analysis and commentary to the relevant committee as specified in the governance structure.

Collections Management

  • Leading and managing the collections team to ensure timely & efficient recovery of outstanding debt.
  • Developing & implementing strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve collection efficiency.
  • Monitoring and reporting on collection performance metrics & KPIs.
  • Handling escalated collection cases and negotiating payment plans with delinquent accounts.
  • Ensuring adherence to collections policies & legal requirements.

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Overseeing the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
  • Developing and implementing policies & procedures to improve accounts receivable processes.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable aging and taking proactive measures to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Ensuring accurate record and reporting of accounts receivable transactions.
  • Collaborating with sales & customer service teams to resolve billing & payment issues.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of 10-15 professionals across credit risk, collections, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Conducting regular performance reviews and providing feedback to team members.
  • Identifying training and development needs and facilitating appropriate learning opportunities.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Developing and executing strategic plans to enhance credit risk, collections, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Implementing digital enablement and automation solution to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitoring industry trends and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team to align processes with organizational goals.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Preparing & presenting regular reports on credit risk, collections, and accounts receivable performance to senior management.
  • Utilizing data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely risk reporting and sign-off.


What will make you a good fit:

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in developing, implementing & monitoring credit risk management framework for supply chain financing products & solutions and collection & accounts receivable management.
  • Proven track record of managing credit risk within a financial institution.
  • Hands-on experience in credit policy, methodology, analytics, credit risk system, credit Management, credit risk process in order management & collections.
  • Demonstrated ability to design & execute stress tests & perform scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency in risk analytics tools and credit risk management systems, strong data analysis and statistical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit risk regulatory requirements, revenue recognition and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong mentorship and development capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence internal & external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset. MBA in Corporate Finance, Master’s in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, CA, CFA, FRM or related advanced degree.
