About the Job:

This position focuses on tool design, specifically jigs and fixtures, within the construction, mining, and earth-moving equipment industries. The role requires an accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or a diploma in tool and die making from recognized institutions, along with extensive experience in tool design. The candidate will be responsible for designing, selecting, and validating tools and fixtures for a variety of components, ensuring optimal manufacturing processes.


What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop jigs, gauges, templates, and work-holding fixtures, including assembly build cum shipping fixtures, lifting fixtures, machining fixtures with pneumatic and hydraulic clamps, and fit-up fixtures.
  • Perform calculations for machining cutting forces and select appropriate cylinders and clamps.
  • Validate tools for various components, focusing on products related to construction, mining, and earth-moving equipment industries.
  • Work with suppliers to procure necessary components like cylinders, pumps, and other tool-related parts.
  • Utilize CREO software for tool design.
  • Ensure structural requirements for testing fixtures are met.
  • Focus on various tool design areas, including fabrication fixtures (tack welding and full welding fixtures and templates), machining fixtures, assembly fixtures, transport elements (dolly/pallets/stacking racks), qualifying gauges (inspection/passthrough gauges), and special purpose machines (optional but beneficial).


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or a diploma in tool and die making from institutions such as NTTF, GTTC, Indo German Tool Room, CITD, or equivalent.
  • For bachelor's degree holders: More than 4 years of core manufacturing experience in tool design (jigs and fixtures).
  • For diploma holders: Minimum of 6 years of core manufacturing experience in tool design (jigs and fixtures).
  • Hands-on experience in tool design, tool selection, and tool validation.
  • Proficiency in designing jigs, gauges, templates, and work-holding fixtures.
  • Exceptional knowledge in calculating machining cutting forces, selecting cylinders/clamps, and understanding suppliers for cylinders, pumps, and other components.
  • Experience with structural requirements for testing fixtures.
  • Experience with CREO for tool design.
  • Familiarity with the construction, mining, and earth-moving equipment industries or equivalent.
