Role Description

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Hyderabad.  This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Backend Developer (Python, Flask, SQL) at GovGPT. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems that power our AI technologies. This includes database development, ETL processes, database design, and data modeling. You will collaborate with a team of talented developers to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, Flask, and SQL. This role involves developing high-quality, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python and Flask.
  • Proficiency in Python, Flask, SQL, and other relevant technologies
  • Write efficient, maintainable code with extensive test coverage in a professional software engineering environment.
  • Manage databases with SQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high development standards.
  • Strong experience in Database Development, ETL, Database Design, and Data Modeling
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Understanding of software development best practices and version control systems
  • Experience working with large datasets and optimizing query performance
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and distributed computing
  • Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in backend development, with a focus on Python, Flask, and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
  • Hands-on experience with database management and related technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Must have a well-maintained personal or professional portfolio on GitHub.
