Position Summary

The Academic Advisor for PGS London plays a pivotal role in supporting students through their academic journey, ensuring they make informed decisions about their academic and skill programmes, course selection, and career pathways. The role involves personalized guidance, academic planning, and continuous support to enhance student admission and student satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Student Counseling and Academic Guidance
  • Provide one-on-one counseling to students to help them select appropriate academic courses.
  • Guide students on program eligibility, lateral entry options, credit transfer processes, and skill-based programmes.
  • Assist students with academic challenges and suggest strategies for improvement.
  1. Programme Planning and Management
  • Help students create personalized academic plans aligned with their career goals.
  • Support students in understanding PGS London’s blended, online, and campus learning modes.
  • Ensure students are aware of assignment-based and credit system evaluation processes.
  1. Liaison and Coordination
  • Act as the primary point of contact between students/parents and faculty or administrative departments.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing/Sales Team and Academic Delegates to address academic or operational queries.
  • Stay updated on UK university academic structures, including OFQUAL-approved programmes, to provide accurate advice.
  1. Academic Records and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, academic progress, and advising sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and quality assurance standards.
  1. Student Retention and Success
  • Monitor student performance and provide timely interventions for those at risk of academic difficulties or in dilemmas related to admissions.
  • Promote programmes designed for career enhancement, such as UK-certified academic courses and skill development and upskilling initiatives.
  1. Marketing and Promotion
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote PGS London programs, including cost-effective and career-oriented options.
  • Participate in events, seminars, and campaigns to attract prospective students.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or any related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  1. Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, student portals, and MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple students and prioritize tasks effectively.
  1. Experience
  • 2+ years in academic advising, student counseling, or a related role.
  • Familiarity with UK university systems and global academic standards (preferred).
