Senior Manager Production Engineering, Cell Electrode

Position Overview:
We are embarking on an exciting journey to establish a state-of-the-art first ever Li-ion Cell Gigafactory in India, and we are in search of an exceptional Production Engineering Manager for Cell Electrode to lead a dynamic team of process, equipment, and controls engineers.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the intricacies of high-volume mass production in automated rubber or paper industries along with a proven track record in overseeing installation, commissioning, and successful ramp-up of production lines.
As the Cell Electrode Production Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless Cell Electrode processes, and driving our mission to revolutionize the energy solutions industry.
Responsibilities:
Cell Electrode Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop and execute robust Cell Electrode strategies that align with our production goals, taking into consideration high-volume output, efficiency, and quality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Cell Electrode strategies into the overall production plan, ensuring synergy and alignment with the downstream.
Installation, Commissioning, and Ramp-Up:
- Lead the installation and commissioning of production lines, ensuring all equipment and processes are calibrated, tested, and validated to meet design specifications.
- Oversee the ramp-up phase, managing all aspects of production including staffing, training, process optimization, and equipment performance.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the Cell Electrode process.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights to refine production methodologies and achieve optimal performance.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide strong leadership to a diverse team of process engineers, equipment engineers, and controls engineers.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving. Leading it by example.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and development.
Technology Integration and Innovation:
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends related to Li-ion cell manufacturing.
- Evaluate and recommend advanced technologies and automation solutions that align with our production goals and enhance overall efficiency.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Collaborate closely with quality control teams to ensure that all Cell Electrode processes adhere to stringent quality standards.
- Implement quality control measures and systems to identify defects early and minimize production interruptions.
Project Management and Reporting:
- Manage multiple complex projects concurrently, ensuring they are executed within established timelines and budgets.
- Generate comprehensive reports on production performance, equipment reliability, and key performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Extensive hands-on experience (7+ years) in leading production engineering, process optimization, and team management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience within Li-ion cell production and/or automated rubber or paper industries is a preference, but not a must-have.
- Proven expertise in overseeing installation, commissioning, and successful ramp-up of mass production lines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset. Knowledge of lean methodologies, and process simulation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in project management and multitasking.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices within the energy storage sector.
