Senior Telecommunications Engineer – Transmission

  1. Fiber Network Management: Lead the design, planning, and implementation of FTTX and GPON networks, managing both aerial and underground fiber deployments.
  2. Transmission Systems: Handle end-to-end management of DWDM, SDH, and PDH systems, ensuring optimal performance and timely fault resolution.
  3. Operations & Maintenance: Oversee operations and maintenance of network equipment, including switches, routers, and optical devices from vendors like Cisco, Nokia, and Ciena.
  4. Network Uptime Management: Ensure 100% network uptime by proactively maintaining and upgrading fiber optic and transmission systems.
  5. Performance Management: Use NMS tools to monitor performance and analyze device logs to identify and troubleshoot issues in the network.
  6. Team Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors for network expansion, optimization, and 4G/5G rollout projects.
  7. Network Security & Fault Management: Ensure the security and reliability of the network by managing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
  8. Technical Expertise: Utilize a deep understanding of various network protocols and transmission technologies to provide Level 2 support for network issues and ensure smooth network operations.
  9. Vendor & Client Coordination: Liaise with vendors and clients to ensure network equipment and infrastructure meet operational standards and requirements.
  10. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, fiber routes, and technical standards to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or related field.
  2. 15+ years of experience in telecommunications, particularly in fiber optic networks, transmission technologies, and network management.
  3. Strong hands-on experience with DWDM, SDH, PDH, GPON, and MPLS/BGP protocols.
  4. Proficiency with tools such as OTDR, Optical Power Meters, SDH/SONET analyzers, and E1 testers.
  5. Experience with major telecom vendors (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Ciena, Huawei, Alcatel).
  6. Proven ability to manage large-scale fiber networks (over 1700 km of aerial fiber).
  7. Knowledge of 4G/5G networks and experience in network rollouts.
