Position - GCP Data Engineer

Location - Gurgaon

Experience - 5+


We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Engineer with 5 to 7 years of overall experience to manage and enhance our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehousing, and data modeling. This role requires a deep technical background in data structuring and migration, combined with exceptional skills in client liaison for requirement gathering.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ETL Development: Design, implement, and optimize ETL processes to support data integration from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • Data Warehousing: Develop and maintain robust data warehousing solutions to store and manage large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Data Structuring: Utilize your technical expertise to structure and organize data effectively for analysis and reporting.
  • Data Modeling: Create and manage data models to ensure data consistency, integrity, and usability across various platforms.
  • Migration Projects: Lead and support data migration projects, ensuring smooth transition and integration of data from legacy systems to new environments.
  • Client Liaison: Engage with clients to gather, analyze, and document requirements. Translate client needs into technical solutions and ensure that deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced technical skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement best practices in data engineering.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to align data engineering solutions with organizational goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, architecture, and data models to support ongoing development and operational activities.


Must Have:

  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in data engineering, including hands-on experience with ETL, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • ETL Tools: Proficiency in ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, or equivalent.
  • Data Warehousing Solutions: Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or similar.
  • Data Structuring: Strong skills in data structuring and organization for efficient analysis and reporting.
  • Client Interaction: Extensive experience in liaising with clients to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, PySpark and scripting languages like Python.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.


Good to Have:

  • Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g GCP).
  • Data Governance: Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
