Job Overview:

The General Manager - Legal is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company's real estate transactions and operations. This role involves providing strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and supervising the legal team.


Key Responsibilities:


Legal Strategy and Advice:

Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company’s business objectives.

Provide expert legal advice to the executive team and departments on real estate transactions, contracts, and compliance matters.


Contract Management:

Draft, and review various contracts, including agreements, leases, and construction contracts.

Ensure all contracts protect the company’s interests and comply with relevant laws and regulations.


Compliance and Risk Management:

Monitor and ensure compliance with real estate laws and regulations.

Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate transactions and operations.

Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions and disposals.


Litigation Management:

Oversee and manage litigation and dispute resolution related to real estate matters.

Coordinate with external legal counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings as necessary.


Team Leadership:

Lead and manage the legal team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure cohesive legal support for all business activities.


Stakeholder Coordination:

Liaise with external legal consultants, government authorities, and other stakeholders.

Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external parties.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master’s degree (LLM) preferred.

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in real estate law, with significant experience in a senior legal position.

Strong knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Proven experience in contract negotiation, litigation management, and compliance.

Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
