We are seeking a skilled Remote Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of our web applications, APIs, databases, and mobile applications (iOS & Android). This role involves testing software across multiple platforms and collaborating with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and automating test cases to identify defects and enhance the overall user experience, all while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

1.       Test Planning & Strategy

- Develop, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, APIs, databases, and mobile apps (iOS & Android).

- Define QA strategies and best practices for cross-platform software testing.

- Identify testing requirements based on business specifications, design documents, and user stories.

2.    Web Application & API Testing

        - Conduct functional, UI/UX, usability, and regression testing for web applications.

        - Perform RESTful API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SOAP UI to ensure seamless data flow between systems.      

3. Mobile App Testing (iOS & Android)   

        - Execute functional, usability, and UI testing across multiple mobile devices and platforms.

           - Use real devices and simulators/emulators for manual and automated mobile testing.

           - Automate mobile testing using tools like Appium, Espresso (Android), or XCUITest (iOS).

           - Test app performance, battery usage, memory leaks, and compatibility across different OS versions.            

4. Performance, Security & Compatibility Testing

       - Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to identify bottlenecks in web and mobile applications.  

               - Ensure web and mobile applications meet security standards by performing penetration testing, authentication testing, and data encryption validation.

       - Perform cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing using tools like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.    

5.  Defect Management & Reporting

      - Identify, document, and track defects using issue-tracking tools like JIRA, Trello, or Bugzilla.

      - Work closely with development and support teams to reproduce, analyse, and resolve issues effectively.     

   6.   Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

          - Actively participate in Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

          - Stay up to date with the latest trends in QA automation, mobile testing, and software quality assurance methodologies.

          - Provide feedback and suggest improvements in development, testing, and deployment processes.

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in software testing (manual & automation) with expertise in web, API, database, and mobile app testing.

- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test strategies, and best practices.

- Experience in mobile testing (iOS & Android) and automation frameworks (Appium, XCUITest, Espresso).

- Proficiency in Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright for web automation.

- Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.

- Hands-on experience with SQL databases for data validation and integrity testing.

- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred:

- Experience in web and mobile apps automation testing (Selenium, Appium).

- Experience in performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).

- Familiarity with security testing best practices.

- Hands-on experience in CI/CD integration with test automation.

- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

- ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications.
