Purpose:

To lead the design & development of Electrical and Electronic (EE) parts, components, sub-systems, modules, functions and systems. Steering and control of the EE portfolio and strategy. Ensuring successful delivery of the business objectives for all projects in India for domestic and export markets as well as the support to the global projects. Technology driven (Advanced driver assistant systems ADAS / Connectivity / Infotainment / Lightning / Battery-electric driven vehicles BEV etc.) and strategic business initiatives (Special projects) as well as focus on Learning & Development of the whole EE team in order to lead to long term business goals to sustain in the region.


Task:

  • Managing personnel
  • Development, testing and release of electrical / electronic parts, components, sub-systems, modules, systems and functions for all the brands of the Volkswagen Group in India for domestic and export markets, according to the VW group product emergence process (PEP) and quality standards
  • Adaptation of standards, rules and procedures for local/ global needs
  • Development and/or adaptation, localization (including suppliers management), testing and approval for single electrical/electronic equipment or VW group modules cross-brand.
  • Ensure availability of the components required at each milestone until End-of-Production (EOP) and ensure the fulfillment of the project given targets (time, quality, costs, resources, functionalities).
  • Determination and conversion of the department strategy and destination in tuning/ with guideline of the managing board of the technology center Pune (TCP) and EE head Skoda Mlada Boleslav (MB)
  • Identification, establishment and securing of comprehensive electrical / electronic competences, know-how and usages of current and new technologies in the market.
  • Manage and mitigate the risk to ensure successful launch of all products and trouble-free life cycle until EOP.
  • Personnel and budget planning & management, pursuit and conversion measures for the area with the sub-departments EE/x.
  • Develop internal competency & capability to ensure robust compliance with VW group processes and legislative requirements and develop internal competency & capability to support technical / engineering / technological activities / functions for Global requirements / solutions
  • Full prototype technical release (Baumustergenehmigung – BMG) responsibility for dedicated parts, components, modules in alignment with the brand headquarters.
  • Performing individual task-related duties in accordance with the knowledge and experience of the position holder.
  • Advising other people holding positions at ŠKODAAUTO Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., subsidiaries/associate companies, or cooperating organizations upon request and in consultation with the appropriate people responsible.

  • Design / Data approval / release at each Project milestones until EOP, Cost optimization
  • Strategic business approach, Future business vision
  • Lead & guide the team to achieve organizational and project related goals

Responsibilities:

  • The position ensures timely, quality, economic and technological release of newly developed and localized parts, components, sub-systems, modules, systems and functions for Indian projects for domestic and export markets
  • To steer and implement the strategy for EE in Indian market with correspondence to EU strategy. Preparation and coordination of technology roadmaps for Indian and export markets for whole EE.
  • To introduce innovations and new technologies for Indian market including local solutions. Local development of components to support VW group global projects.
  • To lead activities of the sub-departments - Comfort Electronics, Body Electronics, Architecture, Light and Vision, Infotainment, Connectivity, Energy Management, for Conventional, Alternate Fuel and Electric Vehicles. To create sustainable organization for EE with continuous improvements and innovation tasks.
  • Collaboration with all departments/business units, technical partners & suppliers and headquarters counterparts for ensuring all described tasks.

  • All generally applicable standards such as the Product Emergence Process (PEP), ISO 9001, and current Processes and organization Standards as per Employees portal.
  • All obligatory group policies, organization standards, methodological guidelines and process descriptions for this position


Membership of committees relating to the described role/position:

  • Tuning or representation in the committees on EE and securing cooperation in the Skoda and VW Group
  • Project/Product/Concept Closure
  • Electrics-Electronics Project meetings and concept meetings
  • Indian cost reduction committee


Essential points of contact(in-house/ external) relating to the described role/position:

  • Internal Points of contact within Engineering in Wolfsburg, Ingolstadt & MladaBoleslav: all departments of brands (Skoda, Volkswagen etc.) or companies of the group (CARIAD, PowerCo etc.).
  • External Points of contact: MD's Office, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Production, R&D, HR, Procurement and the external development partners as well as the suppliers.


Reporting:

  • This role/position reportsdisciplinarily to the following department/OU: Head – Technology Center
  • This role/position additionally reports functionally to the following department/OU: Head – EE Skoda in Mlada Boleslav
