Senior Revit Technician

Role Summary

The Senior Revit Technician would be responsible for creation and editing of fire protection/ suppression and fire detection and alarm drawings in compliance with UK BIM Standards and detailing practices ensuring high output quality of work.


Responsibilities

  • Creation and editing of drawings & models in compliance with WSP UK BIM Standards and detailing practices.
  • Produce accurate BIM/Revit, Bently/MicroStation and AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D models to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of fire protection and detection and alarm design, modelling, and service coordination.
  • Completion of tasks received from Engineers.
  • Should also be familiar with other Autodesk software such as AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Should be familiar with Bently MicroStation software.
  • Ensure drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner to UK standards.
  • Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical field.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
  • Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Attend team and project meetings as required to UK timing.
  • Support the company’s approach to sustainability.
  • Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP UK service to clients.
  • Lead by example and ensure QMS compliance across team.
  • Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.
  • Attend in house or external training for new technologies passing new skills to others within the team.


Mandatory Skills

  • Good working knowledge of BIM software packages, AutoCAD/MicroStation & MS Office.
  • Proven ability to produce detailed fire protection, fire detection and alarm drawings (plans, sections & details) from engineers’ basic sketches to local and international code requirements.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Bently and REVIT Software (latest versions). Including fire protection and fire detection and alarm modelling, content creation (parametric and non-parametric families), coordination with structural and MEP elements, Revit schedules, managing work sets/ links/ visibilities, sheet setup and collaboration.
  • Ability to interact with other teams within the business to advance coordination on all projects.
  • The ability to create and modify fire protection drawings, fire detection and alarm/models based on NFPA, BS and local standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary.
