STEMpowered, an IIT Kharagpur alumni initiative, is a STEM Learning Company that works on teaching students of classes 3 to 12 and UG college concepts of Robotics and AI.


STEMpowered primarily works with schools and colleges, setting up STEM labs or empowering students with STEM kits, implementing a STEM learning curriculum via teacher training, and facilitating within-school classes.


About the Role

  • The current role is that of a teacher who will teach robotics and AI in leading school(s) in Kolkata on behalf of STEMpowered.
  • If hired, candidates will be initially given a part-time role for four months. Depending on their performance during probation, the candidate will be confirmed after four months.
  • The candidates will be given the responsibility of conducting hands-on-centric robotics & AI classes and on creating projects and content to furthering teaching efficacy in this time


Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate would have a BE or B Tech degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior knowledge of coding in the Arduino IDE platform would add an advantage
  • Prior working experience with Arduino Uno and ESP would add an advantage
  • Prior teaching experience in coding/robotics/electronics in the formal or informal sector would add an advantage
  • Students fluent in English and conversational in Hindi and Bengali would be given preference


Remuneration

  • During probation (the first four months), the salary will be calculated based on the number of hours of teaching done. The average monthly payout would be around Rs. 15,000
  • After probation, the salary range would be from Rs. 16,500 to Rs. 25,000, depending on the level of expertise and dedication shown. For exceptionally high-performing individuals, a stake in the company profits may be offered over and above this
  • No additional Travel Expenses (TE) will be paid for travelling to the primary work location. TE rules and reimbursement may apply in case of travelling to a non-primary work location - depending on the discussion with the candidate
