JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FIRE FIGHTING DESIGN ENGINEER & PLUMBING DESIGN ENGINEER

 

Position – Fire Fighting Design Engineer (1 Nos.)


Overview:

As a Fire Fighting Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing firefighting systems for various projects. Leveraging your expertise in mechanical engineering and fire protection, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of building installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and firefighting design, excellent technical skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.


Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha


Responsibilities:  

  1. Developing comprehensive designs for firefighting systems, incorporating industry best practices, codes, and standards.
  2. Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate plumbing and firefighting systems into building designs.
  3. Conducting hydraulic calculations, flow analysis, and performance simulations to optimize system functionality and effectiveness.
  4. Preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for firefighting installations.
  5. Review and evaluation of contractor proposals, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  6. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions, monitor construction progress, and address any design-related issues.
  7. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and draftsmen involved in firefighting design activities.
  8. Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to fire protection.

9.      Candidate should possess Interpersonal skills, sound knowledge of the subject matter, and Leadership qualities for managing stakeholders.

Technical:

  1. Good understanding of local and international design standards, codes & local authority requirements.
  2. Sound knowledge of design calculations such as Water demand estimation, Pump Head calculation, Pipe Sizing, STP sizing, Tank sizing, infra services sizing, etc.,
  3. Space planning for services.
  4. Review of design documents.
  5. Architectural and Structural drawings and design intent.
  6. Review and approval of contractor’s shop drawings and material submittals.
  7. Document preparation for Authority submission.
  8. Water Distribution systems
  9. Hydro-pneumatic Systems
  10. Irrigation Systems
  11. Fire Hydrants & Sprinklers, Fire Pumps, Fire Piping, Hose reels, Fire detection systems, Fire extinguishers, Gas based systems, Fire Curtains, etc.

 

 

Qualifications:  

1)     Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

2)     Minimum of 7 years of experience in firefighting design.

3)     Strong knowledge of plumbing codes (e.g., NBC, IS, IPC, UPC), fire protection codes (e.g., NBC, IS, NFPA), and relevant industry standards.

4)     Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software tools.

5)     Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex issues and propose effective solutions.

6)     Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with professionals from different disciplines.

7)     Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

 

 

Position – Plumbing Design Engineer (1 Nos.)


Overview:

As a Plumbing Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing plumbing systems for various projects. Working closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, functionality, and safety of plumbing installations. The candidate will possess a strong background in plumbing design, excellent technical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Responsibilities:  

  1. Developing detailed plumbing system designs in accordance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
  2. Coordinate with clients, project managers, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of projects as per schedule and requirements.
  3. Perform calculations and simulations to optimize plumbing system performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation necessary for construction and installation.
  5. Conducting site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and ensure proper implementation of plumbing designs.
  6. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and draftsmen as needed.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to plumbing design and construction.
  8. Performing detailed calculations and preparing relevant technical specifications, sequence of operations, and details for the project as per customer requirements and existing conditions.
  9. Reviewing design concepts, calculations, and drawings to the accuracy of design intent, Code Compliance, and customer requirements.
  10. Review Engineering submittals, shop drawings, and various construction administration procedures to provide quick turnaround during the project's construction phase.
  11. Developing cost estimation & Bill of materials as per design concept.

12.  Candidate should possess Interpersonal skills, sound knowledge of the subject matter, and Leadership qualities for managing stakeholders.

 

Technical:

  10. Hydro-pneumatic Systems
  11. Irrigation Systems

 

Qualifications:
