Job Title : Global Fairness Initiative-Project Coordinator-India
Introduction
Global Fairness Initiative (GFI) is an international NGO with 20 years of experience working across the globe partnering with hundreds of marginalized working communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia to enhance economic opportunities and build sustainable livelihoods. To generate opportunity and create the enabling systems that strengthen livelihoods, GFI leads inclusive, multi-stakeholder projects engaging directly with informal workers, government, civil society, the private sector, and multilateral institutions to prioritize the extension of social protections to, and amplify the voices of, the world's most vulnerable workers. GFI also partners with local organizations to support the production of research at the grassroots level to empower and amplify the voices of marginalized workers.
Project Background
The Global Coalition on Future of Workers aims to convene networks of subject matter experts, grassroots/community owned businesses, social enterprises and organisations in all regions of the Global South to both increase awareness, garner support, and mainstream the concept of Economy of Nurturance (EoN) based on a human-centered approach, and to provide tools and information to help build capacity to better represent and serve the needs of workers Multistakeholder group will play key, lead role in the visioning process to prioritize the well-being of workers, communities, and the natural environment. In the EoN initiative, there will be a building of awareness and advocacy for Nurturing Economies and rethinking of human capital that is non-exploitative. Through the building of, and sharing, an EoN model stakeholders will focus on a holistic approach to understand the intersection of climate impact and economic growth on workers' lives and livelihood outcomes in order to adopt and build nurturance practices across regions, sectors, and economies.
The Global Coalition is envisioned as a dynamic peer-exchange and learning forum for worker- centered stakeholders to access information and collectively engage on issues impacting workers, especially the most vulnerable in the informal economy. The Coalition will offer the opportunity for a diverse community of worker organizations to learn about the Nurturance Economy and be introduced to knowledge and best practices intended to help them be more successful in organizing, supporting and representing workers.
Scope Of Work
GFI is seeking a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for developing and facilitating partnership development, and coordinating programmatic activities and deliverables under the Global Coalition. The role is pivotal to handling multiple streams of activities, ranging from event coordination, stakeholder engagement, research management, to contributing to the development of digital platforms and coalition-building efforts. They will be the India-based main point-of-contact for project management for case studies assessments, webinar and convening events, and activities for the Economy of Nurturance (EoN), Advisory Committee, data warehouse, and the Coalition group.
The Role Will Include
Project Management
Manage the Coalition project development during the life cycle of 4 years including coordinating meetings, tracking progress, implementing action plans and timelines, and managing budgets, and facilitate communication between various teams, ensuring that tasks are delegated effectively and there are no bottlenecks in the project.
Identify and track progress of case studies, decentralized supply chain research, and insights into human capital, providing support for data collection and assessments when required. Additionally, liaise with research teams to ensure that data is collected, analyzed, and shared in accessible formats, and support the dissemination of research findings and knowledge-building resources, including webinars, publications, and digital platforms
Participate in calls with research coordinator, economist(s), and relevant partners related to the development of EoN group and webinar events, and provide support as needed
Collaborate with TILI on road mapping process and facilitate convening events,
Collaborate with GFI on training content (data collection, data warehousing, and learning sessions on social protections and climate actions), planning and implementation, and provide regular progress updates highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Partnership Development
Develop new partnerships and maintain existing relationships with key grassroot partners and stakeholders within India, Africa, and US
Identify and collaborate with external stakeholders involved in the: research creation, editing, design, translation, and distribution for case studies; road mapping and advisory committees; researcher coordinator and economist stakeholders; policy and development policy advocates and influencers;
Support the creation of materials for outreach (e.g., coalition brief, stakeholder engagement letters, etc.).
Administrative Support
Support in the preparation of documentation, presentations, and other project materials for meetings, events, and reports.
Help manage the administrative side of the project, including coordinating schedules, meeting agendas, and note-taking.
Handle general inquiries from stakeholders, providing information and updates on project activities.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a strong background in independent program management and research coordination, preferably in international development, economic development, or social justice projects. Demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a track record of successfully working with grassroots organizations and diverse stakeholders. They should have experience in capacity building. Proficiency in data collection and analysis methodologies, as well as knowledge of gender issues, is essential. English and Gujarat language ability is required; additional language skills are a plus.
Duration
The Project Coordinator position is a four-year, renewable contact with a 6-month probationary period.
