Android Developer

A Purpose Driven Role for you:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Android Engineer with expertise in application and SDK development to join our growing team and play a key role in the development of our next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) applications. You will be responsible for implementing the technical designs and complex Android features, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and a high-quality user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications for IoT devices.
  • Creating custom Android SDK frameworks for seamless integration with IoT hardware.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective device communication.
  • Optimizing IoT app performance and troubleshooting issues related to device connectivity.
  • Building SDKs for third-party developers to integrate IoT functionality into their apps.
  • Implementing and testing new features for both Android applications and IoT devices.
  • Writing clear documentation for custom frameworks and SDKs.
  • Ensuring security and privacy of IoT data in mobile apps.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing mentorship to junior developers.
  • Staying updated with the latest Android technologies and IoT trends

What you'll need:

Academic Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

Relevant Experience

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in Android Application and Custom Android SDK Development.
  • Expertise on publishing the SDK and managing the version.

Tech Skills

  • 5+ years of Android application development, with 2+ years in Custom SDK framework development.
  • Strong knowledge of SDK and Android framework development.
  • Proficient in Android development in Kotlin, with a deep understanding of Core Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication.
  • Expertise in IoT communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP) and advanced networking (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTPS) is a good to have.
  • Expertise on integrating API and third-party library Retrofit in applications.
  • Experience in working with BLE peripheral and central roles, and GATT design for Bluetooth services.
  • Expertise on writing and execution of Unit test case, preparation of test suite and code coverage report.
  • Skilled in integrating hardware components (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) into Android applications.
  • Strong debugging skills with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Experience with securing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communications (encryption, authentication).
  • Proficient in scalable architectural patterns like MVP and MVVM and Clean architecture design patterns.
  • Added advantage in Flutter and KMM Multiplatform for cross-platform development.
