Job Summary: 


As an IoT Engineer at Nomisma Technology, you will take a leading role in developing and implementing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. This includes the design, testing, and maintenance of IoT devices and systems, with a special emphasis on firmware development to ensure seamless and robust integration of hardware and software components. 

  

Key Responsibilities: 


- Design, develop, and enhance IoT devices, applications, and systems with a focus on firmware components. 

- Integrate and program microcontrollers and other hardware elements to operate effectively within IoT systems. 

- Work closely with project managers and other engineers to define project requirements and deliverables. 

- Prototype, test, and refine firmware and hardware configurations to optimize system reliability and performance. 

- Maintain compliance with all data security and privacy protocols relevant to IoT and firmware development. 

- Document all stages of firmware and IoT system development to ensure clear records and maintainable codebases. 

- Offer technical support for firmware-related issues in existing IoT solutions. 

- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills in the latest IoT technologies, firmware development practices, and industry standards. 


  


Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 

- Minimum of 2 years' experience in IoT systems development, with a significant focus on firmware. 

- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, and JavaScript. 

- Proficient in the development and troubleshooting of firmware for microcontrollers. 

- Experience with IoT platforms such as AWS IoT and Microsoft Azure IoT Suite. 

- Familiarity with communication protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP and their implementation in firmware. 

- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. 

- Effective communication and collaborative abilities. 


  

Preferred Skills: 


- Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline. 

- Experience with embedded systems design and cloud integrations. 

- Exposure to machine learning and AI as applied within the IoT ecosystem.
