Delhi, India SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) Full time

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on road safety? Do you thrive in a collaborative team environment built on mutual respect and integrity? Are you experienced in managing projects and eager to improve the safety scenario in the country? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at SaveLIFE Foundation.

About SaveLIFE Foundation

SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) is on a mission to save lives on roads across India. Since 2012, over 1.5 million people have been killed in road crashes in India and close to 5 million have been left seriously injured or permanently disabled. Besides the insurmountable emotional trauma that thousands of families must suffer each year, road crashes deal a crushing economic blow to many families.

SLF is a fast-growing, specialised organisation with a proven track record of delivering large-scale impact. We are best known for getting India its Good Samaritan Law and developing the “Zero-Fatality Corridor” solution to transform dangerous highways into “safe ways”. We are registered as a not-for-profit organisation to ensure complete mission alignment.

Our teams work in a creative environment to build novel solutions and thrive on problem-solving. Over the last 15 years, we have built unique strengths in areas such as forensic investigation of crashes, data analytics and predictive modelling, safety design and engineering, public policy formulation, and strategic communication and training. We strive for excellence in everything we do and build leaders through opportunity and mentorship.

We're seeking an Associate/ Sr. Associate - Programmes who can lead a multidisciplinary team to create Zero Fatality Districts and Zero Fatality Corridors. You'll be responsible for ensuring that the districts under the Zero Fatality District initiative and highways under the Zero Fatality Corridor initiative achieve their goal of zero fatalities. This role includes conducting on-ground audits, preparing reports, and leading operations. You'll report to the Associate Director, Projects.

Role and Responsibilities

The Associate/ Sr. Associate - Programmes at SaveLIFE Foundation will work to create 'Zero Fatality Districts' and 'Zero Fatality Corridors' across the country. You’ll do this by implementing the recommendations of the ‘Crash Vulnerability Audit’ through various Central and State agencies. You’ll collaborate with government agencies and senior officials, making data-driven decisions and implementing recommendations. Different teams at SLF will source, use, and analyse your key learnings as part of their work. You will also ensure that all recommendations are practical and data-driven, helping reimagine road safety.

Your responsibilities include

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with senior government officials at central and state levels, ensuring effective communication channels on program objectives.

Represent the organisation in meetings with government stakeholders, providing updates on program progress, challenges, and seeking alignment with government priorities.

Your role is instrumental in coordinating efforts to implement safety recommendations.

  • Data-Driven Insights and Decision Making: Utilise data analysis to make informed decisions, contributing to evidence-based program improvement and strategic planning.

Identify patterns in crash data to shape effective prevention strategies.

Work with the team to develop comprehensive, data-driven recommendations to prevent future crashes. Ensure that all recommendations are practical and rooted in data analysis.

  • Work Support: Provide support to the team in executing program activities, ensuring alignment with organisational values and goals.

Facilitate collaboration between different teams at SLF, ensuring that your program's insights and recommendations are seamlessly integrated into their work.

  • Ownership and Accountability:Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership for your program, taking decisive actions to achieve measurable results.

Any other related responsibilities as entrusted from time to time.

Professional Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognised university. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in government initiatives and program management.
  • Proven proficiency in data analysis software is required, at a minimum MS Office, with a preference for Power BI and geo-analytics.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and people management skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in crafting concise reports and documents.

Personal Characteristics

  • Passionate about public service and dedicated to enhancing road safety.
  • An enthusiast with a keen interest in vehicles and transportation.
  • Action-oriented, results-driven, and accountable for outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, capable of working seamlessly across teams.
  • A direct, clear, and effective communicator.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently on short notice.
