PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:


The Senior Developer provides expertise in the designing, developing, testing, implementation of the functionality and features on the Company’s web sites that ensure the Company’s objectives and projects while meeting or exceeding established goals.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Performs full system life cycle development of the Company’s Commerce applications in order to build and/or enhance functionality for the Company’s web sites.
  • Organizes tasks into structured development methodology such as Agile or Waterfall with an ability to interpret, understand and articulate system level diagrams and designs.
  • Designs and codes applications following established specifications identified in the business requirements.
  • Project planning for efforts contained in the web team.
  • Contributes to the design, development and execution of unit, system, performance, automated regression, and integration testing to ensure that developed code is efficient and scalable.
  • Works closely with business partners to understand proposed design solutions and ensure their feasibility. Recommends alternate solutions when needed.
  • Provides consulting services with business partners. Actively participated in business lead project activities.
  • Provides mentoring and leadership to Web Developers and Interns on all aspects of development and testing. Provides oversight of Web Developers’ work to ensure it adheres to best practices and meets quality standards.
  • Ensures completed tasks meet deadlines and established standards including the business and audit control requirements and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Resolves production problems and actively works to prevent them.
  • Shares knowledge of design patterns, current implementations, techniques, tools and other processes informally with the team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, business project activities, and related information necessary for effective management.
  • Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • At least 5 years of related eCommerce development experience
  • At least 5 years of HCL Commerce experience
  • At least 5 years of Java, J2EE, JSP, JSTL, JDBC development experience
  • Experience with UNIX based operating systems (Linux, AIX, etc.)
  • Experience in using Persistence Architectures via JPA, Hibernate, or similar packages.
  • Proficiency in Developer Tools (IDE, Source Code Repositories, Maven, etc.)
  • Proficiency in the ecommerce platform, including standard functionality, using APIs and data model.
  • Significant knowledge of Spring and related Spring modules (Data, Rest, etc.)
  • Proficient in Web 2.0, including use of OO Javascript, AJAX, DHTML and JS libraries.
  • Experience implementing common integration methods such as RESTful and SOAP web services and Messaging.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and browser compatibility issues.
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Thorough structured development methodology experience.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and preventing loss from attacks.
  • Experience with Content Delivery Networks, Web Application Firewalls, and other security and performance technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of testing tools and techniques.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet assigned deadlines
