Job Description:

As a CAD Applications Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in a collaborative, production support role evaluating, improving EDA and debugging both in-house and commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and flows for the physical layout and design of CMOS integrated circuits. You will work closely with the Design and Layout teams to increase their productivity and work efficiency.

Responsibilities and Tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Develop & Support PV flows using proven EDA vendor tools for memory design.
  • Primarily responsible for developing physical verification checks and sign-off work on at least hierarchical full-chip designs.
  • Excellent understanding of Physical Verification flow with in-depth experience in analyzing and debugging DRC, ERC, LVS, DFM, Antenna and rule deck issues.
  • Deep understanding of ESD, latch-up etc.
  • Understanding of custom PERC decks based on internal flow and debug.
  • Tape out signoff checks (PnR, RC-Extraction, STA, LVS, DRC, DFM, ESD, IR, Signal/Clock/Power-EM)
  • Ability to plan and work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience or master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering with 3 years of experience

  • Experience with different physical verification checks like DRC, LVS, Antenna, ERC, ESD, RC-extraction.
  • Experience in sign-off PDV tools like PDK Concepts, SVRF, Calibre, ICV, PVS.
  • Excellent UNIX and scripting programming skills (Perl, TCL and/or Python).
  • Tape out experience in latest technology nodes will add advantage.
  • Basic understanding of device physics.
  • Experience with flow automation will add advantage.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
