The Millet Company is a Pune-based startup dedicated to the production and distribution of millets and millet-based products. About the role:

As a FMCG Sales Officer (Pune), you will play a crucial role in optimizing and expanding our operations. Currently, the company is managed by the founder, with assistance from core members, while relying on vendors and clients. With the company in its nascent stage, this is an excellent opportunity to take on significant responsibilities and contribute to its development.


Responsibilities:

  1. Market Development Strategy: Develop comprehensive strategies for Pune and major Indian cities to expand millet product distribution.
  2. Retail Development: Prospect and onboard retail stores, supermarkets, and chains, ensuring efficient product placement.
  3. Relationship Building: Nurture relationships with key decision-makers, initiating negotiations for optimal partnerships.
  4. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to tailor sales strategies and identify target segments.
  5. Sales Target Setting: Set ambitious targets aligned with market potential and business goals.
  6. Promotional Activities: Collaborate on promotional initiatives to drive brand visibility and sales growth.
  7. Pricing and Negotiation: Determine competitive pricing strategies and negotiate favorable terms.
  8. Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to streamline operations.
  9. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor activities through networking and events.


We are looking for a proactive individual who can take charge of market development, establish partnerships with retail stores, wholesalers, and distributors, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your role will involve setting sales targets, creating a robust reporting system, coordinating cross-functionally, and staying updated on industry trends.

This position offers ample room for growth and impact as we continue to scale our Millet-based businesses and introduce new healthy grain products. Your negotiation skills will be crucial in determining pricing strategies and securing favorable terms. Additionally, you'll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless operations and stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.


Note: The period will be 6 Months contract, with 1 month of probation & 3 months of training until moving to full-time. We may have a small personality questionnaire, as we consider this teammate to be long-term in the future. Salary will be credited on every 10th of the next month.
