Requirements

Education (Essential):

  1. 3+ year Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative field
  2. Relevant certifications, such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), is a plus.

Experience:

  1. 3 + years of experience working with compensation management software (Specifically Varicent)
  2. Proven experience as a compensation analyst or in a similar role, preferably in a medium to large-sized organization.
  3. Familiarity with sales compensation concepts, including quota setting, performance measurement, and payout calculations.
  4. Knowledge of incentive compensation plan design and administration best practices.
  5. Experience in a telecommunications environment highly preferred.
  6. Exposure to managing external vendor/supplier relationships and service level agreements.
  7. Track record of self-development and improvement
  8. Experience with SQL and databases
  9. Working knowledge of SaaS software applications
  10. On-the-job training, complemented by formal training programs in leadership and technology management (desired)

  1. Programming experience in BI programming Languages (SQL, PL/SQL, SAS, Python, Scala)

Services Required

Technical Delivery:

  1. Identify, design, and configure Varicent Software solutions to meet MTN's commission calculation requirements.
  2. Translate compensation business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring scalable implementation of new incentive plans and modifications to existing plans within IT systems.
  3. Analyse MTN's commission models, providing guidance to business users and technical teams on configuration and implementation options.
  4. Estimate time and effort for functional development and defect resolution tasks.
  5. Offer technical guidance to Varicent developers for successful delivery of functional and implementation tasks.
  6. Analyse business needs and design Varicent calculation logic to meet those requirements.
  7. Develop and update documentation for MTN's Varicent Commissions Solution Design.
  8. Provide business stakeholders with technical insights into the Varicent platform.
  9. Support MTN’s Varicent Commissions Solution Design by analysing upstream data requirements and downstream system impacts.
  10. Create and maintain technical documentation to track progress and status of responsibilities under this SOW.
  11. Stay updated on Varicent Tool capabilities and new releases, aligning MTN's Varicent Commissions Solution Design accordingly in consultation with technical and business teams.
  12. Identify and implement efficiency enhancements for MTN’s Varicent Commissions Solution when required.
  13. Define and prioritize technical design and development tasks.
  14. Maintain documentation related to time tracking (Octane), design, development (Wiki pages), and progress reporting.
  15. Participate in regular audits and analyses of data feeding into the incentive compensation engine to identify and rectify any discrepancies or inaccuracies.
  16. Provide continuous support in addressing commission calculation- related inquiries and exceptions from the Commissions Business Operations (Finance).
  17. Provide project management support for incentive compensation projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  18. Participate in the creation of the overall program work plan, ensuring MTN Varicent Commissions Solution dependencies are incorporated with appropriate timelines, effort estimates, and assigned responsibilities.
  19. Perform testing of new compensation plans and system enhancements to ensure functionality and accuracy.
  20. Implement changes and updates to compensation plans, working closely with other IT stakeholders to ensure successful deployment within standard MTNSA IT governance.

Customer:

  1. Partner with the business and ensure in-depth understanding of incentive compensation plans, processes, existing workflows to assist in the analysis and help identify redundancies and eliminate them to improve operational efficiency.
  2. Educate the business on technical capabilities and the technical implementation of compensation models. Champion, and drive technical compensation implementations.
  3. Arrange regular sessions with customers to inform, educate and facilitate feedback.
  4. Adopt a proactive approach to prevent problems from arising in the future.
  5. Build and maintain solid relationships with business unit stakeholders.

Strategic Input:

  1. Participate in the development of goals, tactical strategies, and plans needed to achieve the portfolio’s vision and build the capabilities to enable optimal delivery with input from relevant stakeholders.
