Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Corporate role for a Learning and Development Manager. The Learning and Development Manager will partner with the Corporate L&D, COE, HR Business partners and Resort Managers / Department Heads to own, manage & drive the Learning & Development Interventions & Training Programs for the Resorts as per the L&D Strategy Framework & business objectives. This includes but is not limited to identifying training needs, designing and developing training material, facilitating training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent Learning Needs Analysis and effectively partner with stakeholders to implement learning and development initiatives to drive performance.
  • To ensure that the mandatory Training Programmers are covered for all the Employees e.g., Fire Safety, First Aid, Crisis Management, Grooming, Telephone Etiquettes, Standard Phrases, Code of Conduct etc.
  • Review training effectiveness in the unit, and review the same with unit Management committee.
  • Ensuring implementation of the SOP across all core departments & recommend improvements so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that Mayfair Group delivers peerless services, operational excellence, and innovation.
  • Partner with COE & Corporate L&D for implementation of the integrated group wide L&D plan and blended learning initiatives, including on-the-job training, classroom training, mentoring etc. to address capability and knowledge gaps, equip colleagues with the skill sets required to meet operational objectives and ultimately enhance guest experience.
  • Analysis of all available data through guest feedback systems (Kepsla, TripAdvisor, Google Reviews etc.) to identify skills and service gaps, and work with operational leaders to design and implement multi-dimensional interventions and programs to address these gaps in positive sustainable way.
  • Assist in conducting TTT & facilitate a learning culture through the development of Departmental Trainers to enhance knowledge and capability of frontline associates.
  • Monitor & drive implementation of monthly training calendar for the unit and conduct L&D reviews with unit Leadership Team.
  • Facilitating in cascading the Vision, Mission & Values of the Company to all the employees across the unit.
  • Coordinate training activities being carried out for the unit by external trainer / resource person. Track program effectiveness on content, delivery and faculty and give feedback to different stakeholders for further improvement.
  • Own & drive the LMS (learning Management System) – utilization, coverage & penetration of the LMS courses.
  • Partner with COE and Corporate L&D to develop courses, pathways & content development for LMS along with the help of SME at unit level.
  • Ensure that all reports pertaining unit or Corporate L&D are prepared & submitted to COE on time with diligence.
  • Own, manage & drive the MAYFAIR Management Trainee Program – ASPIRE right from MTs wellbeing to the adherence of their curriculum, reviews & evaluation. To mentor, groom, coach, counsel & recognize the MTs to optimize their potential in coordination with the Centre of Excellence at Corporate Office.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all training activities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of pre and post course briefings to ensure maximum benefit from training courses and identify future training needs.
  • Monitor department training and on job training (dept. induction, dept. trainers, dept. processes) and ensure consistency and quality of training.
  • Build rapport & connect with IHM Colleges & Campuses in & around the region to position Mayfair as a preferred choice of employer amongst colleges & aspiring students.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience as a Training Manager, Learning & Development Manager or similar in a service based environment (3-5 years) with strong operational background (2-3 Years).
  • Excellent facilitation presentation and coaching skills; sharp business acumen and a strong passion for Learning & Development, helping others to grow and develop.
  • Critical & Analytical skills with customer centric approach.
  • Outstanding inter-personal skills & ability to build rapport with employees, colleagues & all stakeholders.
  • Awareness & understanding of current approaches & trends in the field of learning and development.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices & exposure in creating content for LMS.
  • Proficient in MS Office – MS Word, MS PowerPoint & MS Excel.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
  • Experience of working on LMS Authoring tools & understanding of Instructional Design methodology is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take initiative
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management/ Hospitality
