Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Quality Manager to oversee the quality assurance and control processes within our medical coding department (HIM ). The Quality Manager will be responsible for monitoring coding accuracy, compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, and ensuring adherence to organizational quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding, quality assurance methodologies, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures for the medical coding department.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of medical records to evaluate coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with coding team leaders to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse audit findings and provide actionable feedback to coding staff to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to medical coding and ensure compliance with coding guidelines (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
  • Oversee the resolution of coding-related issues and discrepancies identified during audits.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance reports and metrics to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the medical coding team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, or related field.
  • Must be certified AAPC/AHIMA
  • 10 years of experience in medical coding, with 5 years in a quality management or auditing role.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Experience with healthcare quality improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
