Job Overview:

As a Principal Data Scientist at Sigmoid Analytics, you will be responsible for leading our data science team, driving the development of cutting-edge algorithms, and providing strategic guidance on leveraging data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for applying machine learning and statistical modelling techniques to drive business growth and enhance decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance on project priorities, methodologies, and best practices.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying data science techniques to address business challenges and drive innovation.

- Develop and deploy advanced machine learning models and statistical algorithms to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.

- Drive the research and development of new data science methodologies, tools, and frameworks to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.

- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate data science solutions into production systems and ensure scalability and reliability.

- Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and data visualizations.

- Stay abreast of advancements in data science, machine learning, and related fields, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives within the organization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading successful projects and teams.

- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling techniques, and optimization methods.

- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka, and proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive projects from conception to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in industries such as e-commerce, finance, healthcare, or telecommunications.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Contributions to open-source projects, publications in peer-reviewed journals, or participation in data science competitions.

- Certifications in data science, machine learning, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer).
