Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our dynamic team. This role requires deep expertise in PHP, with experience in Cake PHP and PHP 7.0. The ideal candidate will be familiar with deploying applications in Docker containers and have experience with background job processing and worker threads. You will work on both back-end and front-end aspects, requiring proficiency in Redis, Queue management, and front-end frameworks like Angular or Vue.js. Additionally, expertise in 3rd-party API integration, MySQL, and AWS RDS is essential. A good understanding of job servers is a plus.


Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop, and maintain high-quality PHP applications using Cake PHP (v2.10+) Or PHP 7.0.

● Implement and manage background job processing, worker threads, and queues using Redis.

● Containerize applications and manage deployments using Docker.

● Integrate third-party APIs and services seamlessly within applications.

● Collaborate with front-end developers to create responsive, high-performance web applications and ensure seamless integration with back-end components.

● Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot MySQL databases, and manage AWS RDS instances.

● Ensure high performance and scalability of applications.

● Work with job servers to manage and scale background processes effectively.

● Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.

Required Skills

● PHP (7.0) with advanced knowledge in CakePHP (v2.10+).

● Background Job Processing and Worker Threads expertise.

● Experience with Redis for caching and queue management.

● Strong knowledge of MySQL and AWS RDS for database management. ● Familiarity with Docker and containerization of PHP applications.

● Front-end experience with HTML, CSS and Jquery.

● Hands-on experience with 3rd-party API Integration.

● Proficient in using queues and managing job processing.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

● 5 to 8 years of PHP development experience, with a focus on CakePHP v2.10+.

● Demonstrated experience in a similar role with expertise in high-traffic applications.

● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

● Good understanding of Job Servers (e.g., Gearman, Beanstalkd) for task management (preferred).

● Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.

● Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and container orchestration tools.

● Experience working in a cloud environment and managing Docker containers in production.

● Experience with front end technologies like Angular/Vue etc.
