In a nutshell, what will I do every day in this role?

The Senior Backend Engineer is a highly skilled technical leader within the organization with an area of focus typically spanning multiple product areas. They are responsible for identifying, ideating, designing, and executing on projects end-to-end in conjunction with the product team and senior leadership. Within areas of focus, they will also assist engineering management with refining and prioritizing impactful work in addition to unblocking teams and driving consensus on collaborative projects of the highest business need, risk, and complexity.

Responsibilities for this role:

  • Engage in the successful execution of software engineering activities related to key product feature development, system architecture, and technical design
  • Design, develop, and maintain Python code & front end for integrating LLMs via APIs (e.g., OpenAI, GPT) into our existing application
  • Optimize and fine-tune LLM API usage for performance, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in AI/ML technologies and apply them to improve the product
  • Shift timing would be 4:30 pm to 1:30 am.


Qualifications for this role:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of experience developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using a modern web framework (Vue.js, React, etc) and backend using Python
  • Strong understanding of databases, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience in database design and management.
  • Experience with microservice architectures, experience developing microservices using (Python/Flask, Go, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI’s GPT, Llama, or similar.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) for deploying scalable solutions
  • Understanding of data processing and working with large datasets
  • Experience with messaging system like Kafka, RabbitMq or Google Pubsub
