The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.

Responsibilities

  • Initial preparation and issuance of Request for Quotations (RFQs) for a wide range of commodities
  • Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements
  • Perform commercial analysis on suppliers to develop more efficient processes and cost-effective solutions
  • Execute analysis of local supply sources, acquisition of supplier and market information in supplier conversations, feedback of product centres, exhibition visits, contact with purchasing offices and other media.
  • Responsible for expediting or progress chasing within a manufacturing or engineering business to enhance the efficiency of business processes and delivery of supplies.
  • Meeting and collaborating with management to assess reliability of suppliers and vendors, and to identify solutions for ongoing problems.
  • Contact vendors, place orders, verify supplies, manage supply requisition, and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform Project Managers of potential delays.
  • To work with different heads of department to monitor inventory levels, assess supply vendors and ensure delivered supplies meet quality standards.
  • To derive strategies for the respective commodity to achieve cost savings, to define identical / similar parts and achieve decisions.
  • To undergo comparative evaluation of innovative ability, manufacturing technology, process, and product quality as well as security of supply of vendors.
  • Prepare selection of capable vendors. Execution of RFQs based on technical specifications.
  • Proposal of development partners and suppliers in consideration of cost, quality, supply, and innovation.
  • To participate in cross functional module teams to work on product design, cost optimization and target cost achievement.
  • Work for on time delivery and adhere to delivery policies.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in Casting Procurement, Expediting & Development
  • Experience in Valve / Foundry Industry is preferable
  • Should have experience in SAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
