The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in both Android and iOS development, along with extensive experience managing teams, delivering high-quality and secure applications, and ensuring adherence to best practices in security, performance, and compliance. The role demands strong technical leadership to implement cutting-edge solutions and maintain excellence in delivery on both Play Store and App Store platforms.
Responsibilities will include
- Lead, mentor and inspire the mobile development teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Android and iOS applications; driving technical innovation and excellence.
- Oversee the entire development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
- Manage project timelines, risks, and resources to ensure successful, on-time delivery.
- Ensure that applications meet stringent security standards including secure API handling and data protection, are optimized for performance, and adhere to compliance requirements prescribed by google play-store & apple app store.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in mobile app architecture, code quality, and design patterns (MVVM, MVP, VIPER, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to ensure the technical direction aligns with business goals.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and efficient memory usage.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning, encouraging team members to stay updated on the latest technology trends and tools.
- Utilize and enforce automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) to streamline deployment.
- Manage the release and update processes on Google Play and Apple App Stores, ensuring apps are thoroughly tested and meet submission criteria.
- Ability to drive OKRs, Roadmap and KPIs connecting business and technology initiatives.
- Establish industry-best practices for mobile app development with a vision to scale and robustness.
Functional Expertise
- Android: Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack, Android Architecture Components.
- iOS: Extensive experience with Swift, Objective-C, UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, and iOS SDK.
- Expertise in mobile app architecture patterns like MVVM, MVP, MVC, or VIPER.
- Experience with modular design and reusable code libraries.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading strategic engineering initiatives, delivering business roadmaps, providing predictability of delivery timelines, and conducting performance evaluations to drive individual and team growth.
- Expertise with Git-based workflows and tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitLab.
- Familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello).
- Knowledge of integrating mobile apps with cloud services (AWS, Firebase, GCP) and RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of GraphQL, WebSockets, and backend services used for real-time data sync and offline-first applications.
- Proficiency in automated testing for mobile applications (JUnit, Espresso, XCUITest).
- Strong experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Bitrise, or GitLab CI.
- Expertise in optimizing app performance, memory management, battery usage, and load times.
- Experience with tools like Android Profiler, Instruments, and other performance monitoring frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of mobile security protocols, including data encryption, secure authentication methods (OAuth, JWT), and secure API design.
- Familarity with cross-platform development frameworks like Flutter or React Native.
- Experience with mobile analytics tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and performance monitoring tools.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in mobile app development (both Android and iOS), with at least 3 years of management experience leading a 8+ people team.Experience in the startup ecosystem, particularly in the fintech/BFSI space is highly desirable.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage technical projects from concept to deployment.
