Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by performing a wide range of accounting activities. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, assisting in the year-end audit process, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries for the month-end close process, contributing to the timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations prior to month-end close, ensuring balances are supported, complete, and accurate.
  • Perform monthly P&L review and flux analysis to ensure all expenses are recorded in the proper periods and articulate why any material variances arose.
  • Own the financial statement activity as it relates to ASC 842 Lease Accounting, ensuring new leases and expired leases are properly entered and terminated and entries and reconciliations are properly prepared.
  • Track Fixed Assets, including CIP and capitalized software, owning the monthly reconciliation for all related accounts and activities. Additionally, spearhead the importing of Fixed Assets into the company’s ERP system NetSuite.
  • Manage the reconciliation and monitoring of Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Liabilities, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts and Returns, ensuring all expenses and revenue adjustments are captured in the proper periods. Perform monthly account reconciliations related to our manufacturer’s statements, proactively identifying discrepancies and effectively communicating findings to upper management and vendors. Calculate monthly payments to manufacturers, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations, ensuring that cash is reconciled daily.
  • Create process around the review of accounts related to restricted cash, clearing accounts, and other accruals specific to the business.
  • Collaborate with auditors during the year-end audit process, providing documentation and support as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and identify areas for improvement and automation, streamlining workflows for increased efficiency.
  • Willingly take on ad-hoc projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the finance team and the organization.


Critical Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, with proficiency in US GAAP. Public Accounting or Public Company experience is ideal.
  • 3 plus years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in an ERP system, specifically in a vast array of subledgers.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or other Oracle ERP systems is advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines and assist other members in meeting their deadlines as well.
  • Excel skills on par with look-ups, pivots, sumif, data normalization, etc.
  • Desire and capability to work cross-functionally with members of the organization to understand underlying data and identify the cause of issues when problems arise with the willingness to work with team members to fix issues.
  • CPA is a plus, but not required.
