POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the Quality Management System registered to ISO 9001. Creates and implements quality programs and systems and is responsible for the creation, coordination, and implementation of quality initiatives. Directs inspection, facilitation, training and evaluation of quality systems and initiatives, and oversees quality improvement projects and teams. Leads multi-functional teams to resolve unusually complex problems. Interprets, executes and manages company-wide modifications to policies and procedures. Represents Leslie Controls as prime internal and external contact on matters of area of responsibility. Creates policy deployment objectives and initiatives and utilizes Policy Deployment Process Reviews to ensure conformance to organization’s goal and initiatives and ensures timely completion.


Principal Activities

Support the quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products.

Develop and maintain a published supplier quality index in conjunction with the supplier review board to ensure that only high quality vendors are retained.

Maintain the facility's Corrective and Preventative Action System.

Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.

Prepare for and represent the company during all ISO 9000, U.S. Government, Defense department, and customer quality audits.

Prepare Quarterly Management Reviews.

Conduct ISO internal audits on-site.

Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel (progress, status, productivity).

Assist Quality Control personnel in reviewing and updating department standards.

Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement.

Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors.

Domestic and international travel is required.

All other duties as assigned


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong demonstrated knowledge and expertise in ISO 9001, quality tools and improvement methods is a minimum requirement. Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) strongly desired.

Thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Knowledge of Statistics to lead DOE's.

SPC Implementation experience.

Demonstrated ability to improve product quality required, preferably in an integrated product systems environment. Experience with and dedication to hands-on problem resolution a must.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills required.

Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization is a must.

Auditor Certification and Supplier Development Experience desirable.

Experience with Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence preferred


Education

Bachelor of Engineer from a four-year college or university.

12+ years related experience and/or training

ASQ Certified Quality Manager Preferred

ISO Lead Auditor Preferred
