The founders are serial entrepreneurs who recently scaled & exited an AI startup. Ayraa has built a unique combination of a personal search engine for employees to increase their productivity & a knowledge management platform for the company's leadership team to eliminate information silos & overload.


Ayraa has spent almost three years building a robust platform based on extensive market research & feedback. We are seeing strong signs of product market fit - and investing in our second backend engineer to join our team of 10 engineers in India (Mumbai+Pune).


About the role


This role is a unique opportunity to join the stage zero of an AI rocketship poised for take-off - as an early backend engineer.


Your primary goal will be to work closely with our backend architect (Pune) and head of engineering (San Jose) on a variety of dimensions including crawling, caching, indexing & embedding, instrumenting analytics, data-plumbing for our search & AI systems, and much more. On a daily basis, you will be exposed to a variety of puzzles and working closely with management to innovate elegant solutions to these.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and develop robust backend applications using Java, primarily with the Spring framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver high-quality features.
  • Implement and manage database solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
  • Contribute to our cloud infrastructure efforts, focusing on AWS and GCP platforms.
  • Assist in managing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
  • Help refine AI solutions using various Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance performance.
  • Develop and maintain API integrations to boost our platform's functionality.
  • Provide timely support within US time zones to ensure smooth operation of our platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote teams across different geographies.
  • Produce quick Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new ideas using various programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.


Requirements


  • At least 2 years of professional experience in backend development, focusing on Java.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, particularly with the Spring framework.
  • Extensive experience with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS and GCP.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
  • Experience with API development and integration.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and willingness to adapt to dynamic environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication abilities.
  • Flexibility and adeptness in collaborating with remote and international teams.
  • Experience with Python or Node.js is highly encouraged.
