Job Title: Primary Teacher (PRT) - Computer Science

Location: Manav Rachna International School, Mohali

Job Summary

The Primary Teacher (Computer Science) will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to primary school students. This role involves developing and enhancing students' understanding of computer science fundamentals while encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities

Lesson Planning and Delivery

• Design, plan, and implement engaging Computer Science lessons in alignment with the curriculum.
• Break down complex computer science concepts into age-appropriate lessons using interactive methods.
• Foster hands-on learning through practical coding exercises, software simulations, and project-based activities.

Curriculum Development

• Collaborate with the Computer Science department and coordinators to update and improve the computer science curriculum for primary students.
• Incorporate digital tools and resources to create a dynamic learning environment.
• Integrate cross-curricular themes to show relevance of computer science in other subjects.

Student Assessment and Feedback

• Assess students' understanding and skills through regular assignments, tests, and projects.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and guide them in improving their computer science knowledge and skills.
• Track and report students' academic progress to school administration and parents.

Classroom Management

• Maintain an orderly and conducive learning environment by managing student behavior effectively.
• Promote a safe and positive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and collaboration.

Parent and Community Engagement

• Communicate with parents to update them on students' progress and areas for improvement.
• Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and community activities to represent the Computer Science department.

Innovation and Technology Integration

• Encourage the use of educational technology tools to enhance the learning experience.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and introduce relevant applications and tools that align with curriculum objectives.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A B.Ed. or teaching certification is preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience as a PRT Computer Science teacher or similar role in an educational institution is advantageous.
