  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Proven experience of 5-7 years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry being highly regarded.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and the Medallion Architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Experience with data cataloging tools like Collibra is highly regarded.
  • Experience with Azure or GCP is desirable but not required.
  • Experience in R&D bioprocessing or biopharmaceutical engineering, with an understanding of the specific data needs and challenges in this environment, is highly regarded.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development.
  • Knowledge of metadata management and data quality processes.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and big data processing frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and develop new skills as needed.
  • Capable of identifying the best approach forward for various data engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional.
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty.
