Position Overview:
As a Legal Assistant, you will support our conveyancing team by managing legal documentation, liaising with clients, and ensuring all property transactions are completed efficiently and accurately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in property law and a keen interest in conveyancing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the conveyancer in managing property transactions from start to finish, including preparing and reviewing contracts, conducting title searches, and coordinating settlements.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, and forms required for property transactions.
• Liaise with clients, real estate agents, banks, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely progress of transactions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions in the firm’s case management system.
• Assist with due diligence activities, including verifying property details and ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements.
• Monitor deadlines and manage the conveyancer’s calendar to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
• Provide administrative support, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
• Stay informed about changes in conveyancing practices to ensure compliance and best practice.
Requirements:
• A degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a legal environment with a focus on property law or conveyancing.
• Strong understanding of the conveyancing process and property law in New South Wales.
• Proficiency in using legal software and case management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong client service focus.
