Role Overview

As a Lead .NET Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating scalable, high-performance APIs for a leading Australian bank. You’ll be part of a talented engineering team that values hands-on development, solid engineering practices, and the ability to solve complex problems. You will interact directly with the client, so strong communication and analytical skills are a must.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable APIs using .NET 8 to support mission-critical banking applications.
  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Apply engineering best practices to deliver high-quality software solutions, with an emphasis on maintainability and performance.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to manage data across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Lead the development of full-stack applications, covering both front-end and back-end components.
  • Mentor junior developers, sharing your expertise in API development and best practices.
  • Provide high-level support and troubleshooting, handling complex technical issues.
  • Take part in agile ceremonies, providing accurate development estimates and maintaining project timelines.


Key Skills We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in Web API development using .NET 8 and C#.
  • Deep understanding of core engineering principles and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems and deliver elegant solutions.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Stack, including deployment and scaling of applications.
  • Strong understanding of Microservices architecture, cloud concepts, and hands-on experience in building and managing microservices.
  • Experience with SOA, TLS, JWT, SSO, SAML, JOSE, JSON, and security best practices.
  • Full-stack development capabilities, with proficiency in ASP.NET Core, HTML, JavaScript, and SQL (MS SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with .NET development.
  • Strong track record in developing complex, web-based applications.
  • Experience with Microservices, cloud environments (AWS), and SQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
