Job description


Purpose of the Role


1. Drive and support sustainable supply chain implementation, monitoring and audit at Group level and across all 4 BU's (Manufacturing, IB Projects, OMS, SE Forge) by seamlessly collaborating, internally and externally to deliver sustainable long-term growth, using innovative solutions thereby promising sustainable growth while making a positive impact on society as a whole

2. Ensuring alignment with Sustainable Supply Chain strategy, KPI's and roadmaps and Scorecard at Group level and BU level

3. Managing and implementing sustainable procurement aligned with Suzlon's Sustainable Supply Chain procedures; Sustainable Sourcing Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct

4. Adopting sustainable procurement model to understand day-to-day involvement with suppliers.

5. Conducting supplier audits at regular intervals for proper supplier evaluation aligned with UNGC, ISO 20400 and Suzlon's Sustainable Supplier Assessment procedures.

6. Implementing Sustainable Supply Chain management procedures through tools like self-assessment questionnaires (SAQs), digital platforms for assessment and monitoring, category risk evaluation, corrective action plans as well as sustainability scorecards.

7. Working towards strengthening and adopting robust management practices such as Decent Work Toolkit for Sustainable Procurement, the Guide to Traceability and the Practical Guide for Continuous Improvement to assist companies in developing more sustainable supply chain practices.

8. Implement and maintain processes and procedures aligned with ISO 20400 and BRSR Core requirements applicable on Sustainable Supply Chain which ensure reporting on ESG KPIs and alignment as and when required on issues to ensure monitoring and management of Sustainability performance

9. Working towards strengthening Sustainability performance of suppliers and monitoring framework aligned with global standards and frameworks and working towards inclusion of suppliers across all segments

10. Preparation of SOPs/SOGs/ Operational Manuals and Procedures as and when required and support in continuous implementation and disclosures of Sustainability Performance of Suppliers 11. Capacity building and trainings in accordance with Sustainability strategic roadmap of Suzlon

12. Ensuring meeting customer/investor's requirements at all times, undertaking supplier on-site and off-site audits and support to internal team/s and suppliers as and when required


Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


1.Driving a robust mechanism for implementation, monitoring and audit for effective sustainable supply chain management reporting and excellence across all 4 BU's

2. Streamlining process and procedures adopted for sustainable supply chain management across all BU's and continuously working towards driving the recent trends and staying ahead of the curve through proactive approach adopted at Group level 3. Alignment with Sustainable Supply Chain Management KPI's, roadmap and Group level commitments and demonstrating actions to align with Group's vision and ambitions

4. Working towards strengthening frameworks, procedures, policies and strategies adopted for progressing journey towards Sustainable and Responsible Supply Chain

5. Engage with the internal stakeholders, Procurement, Supply Chain, HSE team etc. and work towards driving responsible progress and transformation in supply chain aligned to Suzlon's Sustainability Scorecard and Group; level commitments

6. Continuous interaction with suppliers and ensuring on-site/off-site engagements with supplier's premises on frequent intervals and undertaking internal audits and surveillance for continuous monitoring and implementation across Group level

7. Alignment and establishing Sustainable Supply Chain practices through digital and conventional tools to strengthen procedures and effective monitoring for ensuring the following:

a)Supplier Code of Conduct

b) Circularity and Alignment towards Zero Waste To Landfill

c) Traceability and disclosures

d) Ethical Sourcing

e) GHG reduction strategy

f) Water Management

g) Product Stewardship

i) Social Responsibility and Human Rights Assessment

j) Stakeholder Engagement

Reporting and Transparency Working along with Senior Management across all 4 BU's and across all existing locations and upcoming projects/plants in future to ensure alignment with Group Level Sustainability commitments

8. Support the Corporate Sustainability team to help in implementation along with Suppliers for working towards net-zero transition roadmap

9. Monitoring and reporting on continuous internals and performance monitoring on monthly and quarterly basis

10.Management for all ESG metrics under consideration at Group level across suppliers and working towards responsible and inclusive growth with strategic partnership and collaboration of all suppliers


Qualification and Experience


1. Proven Track record with minimum 7-10+ years in the domain of Supply Chain Management and preferably in Sustainable Supply Chain Management 2. Exposure on ESG and Sustainability Services implementation at project/plant level and at organizational level

3. Understanding of issues on ground and field expertise of issues and challenges and mitigation plan for handling challenges at supplier level across different maturity levels

4. Experience of Sustainable Supply Chain assessments on field and in remote and challenging environment with varied suppliers and exposure of undertaking audits in accordance with Lender's requirements and in accordance with Global standards

5. Expertise of working on implementation of Circularity and Net Zero and knowledge of UNGC, ISO 20400 and relevant Certification schemes would be an added advantage

6. Excellent verbal and communication skills and competency to work in collaboration with indigenous and overseas suppliers across all levels
