This is a critical hire for the organization, with the need to be on board, strong

data and analytics professional. As a Head of Data Sciences, the incumbent

will own the complete Data Sciences Function of the organization, which is to

champion the use of data and data science techniques in various decisions of

every department, thereby materially impacting business KPIs through

analytics.


The role will be a combination of setting the data and analytics vision,

stakeholder interaction, problem scoping, analytic solution design, and

deployment; along with ensuring the management and growth of the analytics

team. In conclusion, a C-Suite leader-level ownership of the Data Sciences

Function.


Key Responsibilities:


• Work with the top management, business and function heads to identify

the most valuable problems to solve. Also proactively identify and suggest

analytic initiatives that can have major impact.

• Work closely with internal teams / stakeholders to design analytical

approaches to solve business problems. Develop and enhance a broad

range of cutting-edge Data Analytics and Machine Learning solutions.

• Setting up / enhancing data collection procedures from the business as

well as external sources.

• Oversee the work of the team in various aspects of the ML ecosystem –

feature engineering, model building, ML pipelines, logging & versioning,

documentation, scaling, deployment, monitoring and maintenance.

• Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to embed ML/AI and

analytics into the business processes and decisions.

• Source, Train and Grow the team so as to form the next set of mature

data scientists and analytic consultants, thereby widening the reach of the

team. Wear the hat of a Mentor too.

• Establish a close working relationship with the top leaders of the company

so as to play an advisory role for any analytic possibilities. Proactively

reach out and contribute. Be comfortable staring with vague and unclear

problems, and gradually add clarity through continuous interaction with

different business leaders.

• Evangelize Analytics across the organization through various avenues

with the help of the senior leadership, to establish a data driven thinking

among all teams.


Candidate Profile:


• The candidate should have at least 15-18 years of strong Analytics/ Data

Science, experience as a designing data science solution to business

problems, preferably in leading data science teams to execute projects,

preferably, in the financial services space.

• S/he should be a qualified MSc/ MCA/ BSc/ BA in Computer Science,

Engineering professional; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a

plus (MBA/PGDM – Information Technology preferred) with an excellent

communication skills.

• Deep understanding of ML algorithms for common

classification/regression use cases, with hands-on past experience in

designing, developing and deploying.

• Ability to communicate and explain advanced analytic outputs clearly, oral

(presentations) or written (mail), tailoring according to the audience.

• High level of proficiency in a structured programming language, e.g.

Python, R

• Good understanding of data querying / SQL, ML model deployments and

monitoring

• Exposure to data visualization tools and techniques, understanding of

large-scale data processing.

• Should be able to work from office.
