Affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the college offers B.A. LL.B (5 Years) and LL.B (3 Years) programs with a focus on academic excellence, legal research, and professional ethics.We aim to nurture the next generation of legal professionals with a blend of theoretical foundation, courtroom exposure, and community engagement.Position OverviewWe invite applications for the position of Principal to lead the HP College of Law. The ideal candidate will be an academic leader with proven administrative capabilities, a strong research orientation, and adherence to BCI and UGC guidelines.The Principal will provide visionary leadership, ensure academic integrity, and foster an environment of learning, research, and student engagement.Eligibility Criteria (As per Bar Council of India Norms)Must hold a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).Must possess a Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university.Minimum of 15 years of teaching experience in a law college/university, including 5 years in an administrative role (such as Principal, Dean, or Head of Department).Must have a proven record of research and publications in reputed journals and active involvement in legal academia.Must meet eligibility requirements as per the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC) norms for the post of Principal/Professor.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide academic and administrative leadership in line with institutional and BCI standards.Oversee curriculum design, faculty development, and quality assurance processes.Ensure effective implementation of teaching, moot courts, and legal aid programs.Promote research, seminars, and collaborations with legal and judicial bodies.Maintain liaison with Bar Council of India, affiliating universities, and regulatory authorities.Supervise admissions, examinations, and compliance documentation.Build a culture of discipline, ethics, and academic excellence among students and staff.Desired Skills and AttributesStrong leadership and interpersonal communication.Ability to inspire faculty and students.Commitment to institutional development and community outreach.Familiarity with NAAC, BCI inspections, and academic governance frameworks.CompensationSalary: Competitive Salaries would be offered.Additional benefits and allowances may be offered based on experience and qualifications.Application ProcessInterested candidates are invited to apply with:Updated CVAcademic and administrative experience detailsCopies of relevant qualifications and publications📧 Email your application to: jobs@hgpi.in 🗓 Application Deadline: Open until position is filledAbout the InstitutionHP College of Law is part of the Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions (HGPI) — a multidisciplinary campus offering programs in Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Management, Education, and Law.
