Symbiosis has established India’s pioneering skill universities namely Symbiosis Skills and Professional University at Pune & Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences at Indore. Both these skill universities have state of the art campuses with centre of excellence & laboratories having specialized skill training high end instruments. The Skill University has a focus on Applied Research through Industry collaboration.
We are looking for Director Research to establish a research centre, create policies, policy guidelines, SOP & ecosystem for students & faculty. Director Research will provide leadership and vision in setting the strategic research directions for the Symbiosis Skills and Professional University and Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences. He should lead and mentor in expanding research by attracting extramural funding for research.
Director Research is expected to be an active researcher. He needs to provide strategic leadership to advance the pursuit of high-quality academic research activities and the growth of international and national research collaborations in all the domain of the University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for creating and strengthening research ecosystem
- Drafting various policy guidelines for undertaking research activities, research publication, filing patents etc.
- Prepare annual budget for research programs of the University and supervise its implementation.
- Ensuring high quality execution of research projects within specified time and budget
- To strengthen research credentials and research output of the university
- Ensuring to obtain good rating / grade in the area of research in accreditations and rankings
- To organize inter-faculty co-ordination in research programs.
- To promote the compilation and publication of the research findings.
- To promote the integration of research with teaching and extension education.
- Securing new grants and externally funded research projects
- Develop relationships with key funding agencies and government departments
- Oversee recruitment, capacity building and professional development of the research staff
- Develop and lead the professional activities relevant to promoting research and visibility of the University nationally and internationally.
- Collaborating with the University schools to enable and facilitate the promotion of interdisciplinary research.
- Encourage students and faculty to engage in research through various awareness sessions.
Qualification:
Candidate must be PhD preferably from Engineering or Management discipline with min. 15 years’ experience in teaching and research at a higher education Institutions.
- The candidate must have first class at UG & PG
- Candidate must have exemplary research background
- Shall have experience of setting up a research cell and drive research activities at institutional level
Age: Between 45 to 55 years
