Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced ETL Testing Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating the data extracted from various sources, ensuring it is transformed correctly, and loaded into the target systems as per business requirements. The candidate should have a strong understanding of ETL processes and experience with testing methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • ETL Process Validation: Validate the ETL process by verifying data extraction, transformation, and loading into target systems.
  • Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for ETL processes based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Automation: Implement automated testing frameworks for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) of ETL processes.
  • Performance Testing: Test the performance and scalability of ETL processes to ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects found during testing, and work closely with development teams to resolve them.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data architects, ETL developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure successful data integration.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.


Required Skills:


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in SQL for data verification and validation.
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Understanding of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with data profiling and data quality tools.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP) is a plus.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in ETL testing or data quality assurance.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in data management or testing (e.g., ISTQB, CDMP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) is desirable.


Qualification:


Bachelor's OR master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing requirements.

Good time management and prioritization skills
