We are seeking an experienced Sports Psychologist to join our team, Haryana Steelers. The ideal candidate will provide psychological support to athletes, helping them enhance their performance, manage stress, and maintain mental well-being.


Key Responsibilities:


Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to understand athletes' mental health and performance needs.
  • Develop individualized mental skills training programs based on assessments.

Mental Skills Training:

  • Work with athletes on different techniques such as visualization, relaxation, and goal-setting to improve performance.
  • Provide strategies for coping with pressure, anxiety, and other performance-related issues.

Counselling and Support:

  • Offer one-on-one counselling to address professional challenges.
  • Support athletes in managing injuries, transitions, and career-ending scenarios.

Team Support:

  • Work with coaches and team staff to integrate psychological principles into training programs.
  • Conduct group sessions on topics like team cohesion, communication, and motivation.

Crisis Intervention:

  • Provide immediate support during times of crisis or high stress.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Regularly monitor athletes' progress and adjust psychological strategies as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on athletes’ mental health and performance on an athlete monitoring software

Ethical and Professional Standards:

  • Adhere to professional and ethical guidelines in all interactions.
  • Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with athletes’ personal information.


Required:


  • Education: A Master’s degree in Psychology, preferably with a specialization in sports psychology.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with athletes or in a sports setting.
  • Certification: Relevant certification or licensure as a sports psychologist.
  • Strong understanding of psychological principles and how they apply to sports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with athletes and staff.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing mental training programs.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of sports and Indian sports leagues
  • Background in conducting psychological research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and needs.
