Job Summary: Nalanda Degree College is seeking a passionate and qualified Lecturer (Computer Science) to join its growing department. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, developing course curricula, and fostering a love for computer science in students.


Job Description:

Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Lecturer (Computer Science) will include the following:


Curriculum Delivery:

  • Design and execute interactive computer science lectures and lab sessions on various topics, including:
  • Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, Python)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
  • Cyber Security
  • Computer Graphics
  • Web Development (PHP & MySQL)
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • R Programming
  • Software Testing
  • Big Data Technologies
  • Data Mining
  • Cloud Computing
  • Digital Forensics
  • Database Management Systems (DBMS)


Lesson Planning:

  • Develop detailed lesson plans aligned with university guidelines and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in computer science and integrate them into the curriculum.


Student Assessment:

  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and exams; maintain accurate academic records.


Classroom Management:

  • Maintain discipline and foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.


Parental Engagement:

  • Engage with parents/guardians as needed to discuss student progress and address concerns.


Professional Development:

  • Pursue continuous professional development and engage in collaborative research with colleagues.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the computer science department.


Qualifications: To be considered for the position of Lecturer (Computer Science), the candidate must have the following qualifications:


Founder Level:

  • 1-3 years of experience in teaching computer science, Master’s degree in Computer Science, and B.Ed.

Master Level:

  • 4-8 years of experience, Master’s degree in Computer Science, and B.Ed or M.Ed.

Developer Level:

  • 9+ years of experience, Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and M.Ed or Ph.D.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience in computer science at the undergraduate level (preferred).
  • Maximum of 10 to 15 years of relevant teaching or industry experience (desirable).
  • Strong foundation in programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python).
  • Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and other mentioned skills (a plus).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.


Key Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Understanding of AI and ML concepts and applications.
  • Cyber Security: Knowledge of security protocols, ethical hacking, and digital forensics.
  • Web Development: Experience with PHP, MySQL, and web development frameworks.
  • Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data processing and analysis tools.
  • Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud services and architecture.
  • Software Testing: Skills in testing methodologies and tools.
  • Database Management Systems (DBMS): Proficiency in database design, management, and SQL.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with students.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to deliver clear and engaging lectures.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and integrate new technologies and teaching methods.
