MS Engineer – Checkpoint & Palo Alto Firewalls (L1)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MS Engineer with a focus on Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls to join our team on a contractual basis.


Role Overview:

We are looking for an MS Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in firewall administration, specifically with Checkpoint and Palo Alto technologies. In this Level 1 role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewall systems to ensure the integrity and security of our network infrastructure. You will collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to support and enhance our firewall environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Firewall Management: Administer and monitor Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls to maintain optimal security and performance.
  • Incident Resolution: Provide Level 1 support for firewall-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Configuration & Maintenance: Assist in the configuration, updating, and maintenance of firewall policies, access controls, and VPNs.
  • Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to track firewall performance, detect anomalies, and address potential security threats.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for firewall configurations, changes, and incidents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and other IT staff to resolve complex issues and support the overall network infrastructure.
  • Compliance: Ensure that firewall configurations adhere to company policies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) or Master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in firewall administration, with practical knowledge of Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of firewall concepts, policies, and configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewall platforms.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and VPN configurations.


  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) are advantageous.
