Skillset: Python Lead (Geospatial)

Experience: 7 - 15 Years

Job Location: Bangalore / Chennai


Major Responsibilities:


1. Design and implement spatial solution using POSTGRESQL and POSTGIS

2. Spatial data analysis of vector and raster dataset

3. Hands on GDAL command line utilities

4. Handling of GEOJSON, coordinate reference systems

5. Open Layers/Leaflet maps understanding for tiles visualization


Responsibilities:


• Work with the system architect to drive the architectural and technical direction of the program

• Drive the technical decision making in the team

• Be responsible for adherence to quality standards and ensure compliance to CAT processes and standards

• Responsible for driving tech enablers, POCs identified by system architect

• Act as a primary gateway to ensure defects are not introduced by diligent review mechanism

• Responsible for internal and external defect triage and RCA processes.

• Participate in early product demonstrations to customers


Experience Required:


• Bachelor's or master’s in computer science or a related discipline

• 8-10 years of relevant professional experience

• Experience working in the role of a tech lead for complex projects

• Experience in standard CI/CD processes


Skills Required


• Experience with any of the technologies - Python

• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.

• Good understanding with usage of Lambda in Python.

• Good understanding in unit testing frameworks.

• Ability to work with IDEs like Visual Studio Code.

• Basic understanding in developing private PIP / Maven / Nuget packages.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.

• Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful.

• A knack for writing clean, readable Python code.

• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.

• Ability to understand monitoring metrics, such as CPU, Memory, Disk Space, Network latency, and telemetry services.

• Understanding the fundamental of RDBMS databases.

• Ability to work with PostgreSQL is a plus.

• Ability to work with AWS services like Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, SNS etc., is a plus.

• Proficient understanding of Git.

• Proficient with continuous integration and continuous deployment.
