About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, as well as experience with master data management, normalization, denormalization, and dimensional modeling. This role will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing data models to ensure integrity, consistency, and efficiency of data within the organization. What You’ll Do: Data Modeling & Design: Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to meet business requirements. Apply ER (Entity-Relationship) modeling techniques to develop clear and structured data models. Apply normalization and denormalization principles to optimize data storage and retrieval. Develop master data models and participate in Master Data Management (MDM) processes. Dimensional Modeling & Optimization: Create and optimize star and snowflake schema designs for high-performance data warehouse systems. Design fact and dimension tables to support data analytics and business intelligence solutions. Data Quality & Lineage: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data models. Implement data cataloging strategies, track data lineage, and conduct impact analysis to support data governance practices. SQL Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data. Collaborate with developers to ensure efficient data querying and performance optimization. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data models meet business needs. Provide insights on how data modeling can support analytical capabilities and decision-making. What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Proven experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Strong knowledge of ER modeling and principles of normalization and denormalization. Experience in Master Data Management (MDM) and managing master data domains. Expertise in dimensional modeling, particularly in creating star and snowflake schemas. Experience in developing fact and dimension tables for data warehouses. Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage tracking, and impact analysis. • Experience with data governance and best practices in data modeling. Familiarity with data modeling tools such as Erwin, IBM Infosphere Data Architect, or Microsoft Visio. Experience with database platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and optimization.
