As an Environmental Consultant specialising in Carbon Offset and Carbon Trading, you will be responsible for managing our carbon offset projects and overseeing the trading of carbon credits. This role requires expertise in climate financing, offset project development, and credit trading processes. You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, engage with stakeholders, analyse market opportunities, and drive the overall strategy to maximise our impact in carbon markets.


Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Develop and implement carbon offset projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with project partners, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all carbon offset projects comply with relevant environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of changes in carbon market regulations and update project strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory bodies and certification agencies.

Carbon Credit Trading:

  • Manage the trading of carbon credits on various markets, including identifying and negotiating with buyers and sellers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the trading of carbon credits.
  • Maintain accurate records of all trading activities and transactions.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate the benefits and progress of carbon offset projects to stakeholders.
  • Foster relationships with industry peers and participate in relevant industry forums and events.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of project activities, including financials, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare regular reports on the progress and impact of carbon offset projects.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in all project-related activities.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the carbon markets.
  • Analyze market data to inform trading strategies and project development.
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry developments to stay ahead of market trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in climate financing, carbon offset project development, and carbon credit trading.
  • In-depth knowledge of carbon markets, trading platforms, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for project management and market analysis.
