We are looking for a Windows Application Packager and Lead to provide services to our client, a global financial firm. The candidate is expected to reside in India and the work hours will likely be 6am to 2pm EST (NY Time).


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Excellent Communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • 7-9 years’ experience in working in IT services organization
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an environment where ITIL processes are implemented
  • At least 2 years’ experience in working with UK / US clients
  • In client facing role(s) for at least 2 years
  • Experience in being part of at least one Global support team (Preferably for US or UK)
  • Education - Bachelor or higher degree


Skills Requirements


Mandatory skills

  • Expert level familiarity with aspects of application packaging, e.g. Wise, Flexera Admin Studio, Install Shield and MSI development.
  • Strong Experience with scripting: VB Script, PowerShell, Batch
  • Experience participating in development, QA testing, and production rollout of software packages, while working closely with application owners/developers and the System Center Configuration Management team.
  • SCCM - Deployment, Packaging, Patching, Reporting
  • Run meetings - publish minutes and take-aways
  • Able to take ownership and run individual projects



Good to have skills but not mandatory

  • Microsoft SQL database query construct and stored procedure creation
  • Strong experience with application streaming and virtualization solutions (MS App-V and Citrix XenApp)
  • Familiarity with PatchMyPC or similar SCCM integrated third party patch utility
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certified
  • Microsoft Office including Visio and Project
  • VMWare ESXi/ VSphere 6.x
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft development technologies (.Net Framework, C#, COM, Data Access server communications protocols

High Level Role Responsibilities

  • Be Part of Client Application Packaging support team across US and India
  • Participate in development, QA testing, and production rollout of software packages working closely with application owners/developers and the System Center Configuration Management team.
  • Serve on a team of resident experts in the Microsoft desktop operating system discipline who diligently interface with other engineering groups to ensure continued relevance of the technical solutions. Hold in-depth knowledge of every aspect of the software packaging environment, as well as provide expertise in troubleshooting and identifying problems in support of on-call persons with Level 2/3 expertise.
  • Suggest design standards and guidelines, as well as automation to ensure adherence, e.g. desired configuration management
  • Ensure ongoing evolution of the software packaging solutions platform to support business requirements and align with the corporate IT strategy
  • Work with application development groups to ensure implementation of standards with regard to package deployment and maintenance windows
  • Work with onsite team to execute Change requests as per Change management window provided by business
  • Should be flexible to work in shifts, predominantly in UK and Early US shifts (15:30 PM IST till 00:30 AM IST)
  • Responsible for meeting SLAs and CSAT
  • Weekend On-Call support rotation (occurs every ~5 weeks, weekday comp time or O/T is provided)
  • Available on call to drive major incident / outage resolutions
