Position Overview:

The Senior WordPress Developer is responsible for the development, optimization, and maintenance of multiple WordPress websites, ensuring high performance, security, and seamless integration with content and design elements. This role collaborates closely with the Content & SEO Manager and the UI/UX Designer to deliver user-friendly, visually appealing, and well-structured websites that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Development & Optimization: 


• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins.


• Ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility compliance.


• Optimize website performance, including database queries, caching, and code optimization.


• Implement security best practices, conduct regular audits, and manage vulnerabilities.

Technical SEO & Integrations:


• Implement structured data, meta elements, and other SEO-friendly development techniques.


• Integrate analytics, tracking pixels, and marketing tools to enhance performance measurement.


• Work with the Content Manager to ensure SEO best practices align with development standards. 

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:


• Manage website hosting, server configurations, and backups.


• Troubleshoot issues related to performance, security, and site functionality.

Security & Compliance:


• Implement SSO, user provisioning, and identity management best practices (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Google Workspace).


• Ensure all technology operations align with company security policies and regulatory requirements.


• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and access controls.

Collaboration & Support:


• Work closely with the UI/UX Designer to translate design concepts into functional websites.


• Support the Content Manager by implementing content structure and optimizing layouts for engagement.

Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:


• 5+ years of experience in WordPress development, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL.


• Experience with hosting environments, CDN, and server management.


• Familiarity with SEO, page speed optimization, and security best practices.

Problem-Solving & Collaboration:


• Ability to manage multiple websites and prioritize tasks effectively.


• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.


• Exhibits a high level of responsibility, taking ownership of tasks and projects without requiring constant management or support.
