Manager - Technology Transfer / Product Manager

ROLE OBJECTIVE
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to enable technology transfer of new products from R&D to Manufacturing and to oversee the manufacturing of Portable Diagnostic Devices and Consumables.
He/She will be responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output. The candidate is expected to have deep know-how in production methodologies and have the ability to manage multiple lines manufacturing different products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with R&D to understand the technology of new product assembly, review the design transfer file and enable the introduction of the new products in the manufacturing lines.
Participate in the feasibility study of scale up manufacturing of new products, before locking stage of design file by R&D.
Develop an effective manufacturing strategy together with the plant manager and the executive team.
Responsible for production planning and ensuring the timely availability of raw materials (parts and sub-assemblies).
Ensure production lines run at optimal levels to meet production targets with the right quality.
Drive collaboration across the teams to meet targets, resolve issues and implement new ideas and continuous improvement.
Define and drive preventive maintenance of equipment in the assembly lines to ensure minimal down time.
Enforce safety and compliance in every activity on the production lines.
Keep abreast of latest manufacturing technologies and methodologies and implement appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with cross function teams (R&D, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, IT, etc.) to develop production plans.
Ensure accurate production data capture and data analysis to improve productivity, quality and maintenance of machines, jigs and fixtures.
Develop talent within the production team.
Ensure compliance with local and international laws.
Engage with suppliers to ensure incoming quality of the parts and sub-assemblies.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
ME / MTech / BE / BTech (Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Electronics & Electrical).
Strong knowledge in Lean manufacturing, Six sigma including Process capability analysis.
Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing process and technologies.
Knowledge in factory automation, machine building, jigs and fixtures.
Knowledge of Product Validation Processes like APQP and PPAP will be an added advantage.
Deep knowledge of production management.
Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
Experience in reporting using key production metrics.
Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
Overall 10+ years of experience in the areas of manufacturing plastic & electronic components / devices.
Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
